FUNDRAISING EVENT - CODY GRACE

During the 2011 season our club has been privileged to welcome a player, Cody Grace, joining us after moving up from the country. Cody (15) has played up a year and was involved in our 16's Premiership Team in 2011. Cody was a significant contributor to the team throughout the season kicking 44 goals in the qualifying season and 18 goals in the finals. The team and club will not forget the goal in overtime to win the Grand Final. Cody finished runner up in the Subiaco District fairest and best awards as a result of his efforts during the qualifying season.

Cody was selected to represent WA in July at the State Schoolboys Carnival in Canberra. He was amongst WA's best players at that competition, kicking many goals, and was rewarded with selection in the all Australian Team.

As part of this selection, Cody will be going to South Africa with an AIS group in January 2012. For Cody to participate in this trip (as well as all other players) it will cost in excess of $6,000.00. This is on top of the $3,000+ for the Canberra trip earlier in the year which the club supported in part.

To help Cody and his family in raising the funds to go to South Africa, the Kingsway Junior Football Club in conjunction with the Kingsway Football Club will be having a fun "Fund Raising Night" at the Kingsway Football and Sporting Club on Saturday 3rd December 2011 starting at 7.00pm. The night will see the auction of sporting memorabilia and other items as well as "on the night" raffles.

If anyone can help with any donations of Auction and/or Raffle items of any size this would be appreciated (please contact Mark McAlister 0434 416 608).

Most importantly the Club would like to see as many people as possible in attendance to support Cody's cause and have a pre Xmas drink.

$5 cover charge for adults for band costs will include your entry to the door prize.

Thank you on behalf of the Committee Kingsway Junior Football Club

CONGRATULATIONS TO CODY - LET'S GET BEHIND HIM AND SUPPORT HIS REPRESENTATION KJFC AT THE NATIONAL COMP

KJFC Under 15's & 16's Legends, AND DISTRICT CLUB OF THE YEAR...

In what has been described as the best game of junior footy ever seen by many, our 16's team led by coach Mark Freeman has gone "back to back" in bringing home pennant number 2 for the team, 3 for the club....

Beating Wembley Downs by 4 pts in extra time will go down in history as one of the most gutsy of wins against trying circumstances.

Rain, injury, wind....the game had it all, but our boys overcame the massive adversity to bring the bacon home once again...

On behalf of all committee and club members we congratulate the boys. We also congratulate the stellar 15's team led by Col "The Rock" Demspter who nearly got there, going down only by a couple of kicks and were valiant til the end. Well done boys...a GF appearance this year, and a solid crack at next years flag. Be frightened teams that face us...

KJFC Grand Final Teams & Association Awards

The KJFC committee wishes to congratulate all teams that have competed this year, in particular those Open Rules teams who made it through to the finals series this year. We are pleased to announce that both our 15's and 16's teams have made it through to the Grand Final this week and will be competing for their respective flags on Sunday.

Details of the games are as follows;

15s v Sorrento Duncraig at Richard Guilfi at 3pm
16s v Wembley at Medibank at 5pm.

On behalf of all club members we wish the 15's and 16's teams the very best of luck and hope we can get a solid crowd at each game to support the boys.

The committee is also very happy to announce that we featured very well in the recent Subiaco district Fairest & Best vote count with some of our players being recognised for their efforts. These were;
14s Blue Division F&B Travis O’Malley
15s Maroon Runner Up F&B Aaron Summers
16s Blue F&B Rhys McCallister
16s Blue Runner up F&B Cody Grace

Congratulations to these boys for their own individual efforts during season 2011.

Finally, a very proud announcment for the club in that Cody Grace (a new player to the club this year) has been successful in achieving All Australian selection at the recent 15s Schoolboy Nationals. This is a fantastic individual achievement for Cody and for the club in having a representative player at this level. On behalf of all club members we wish him well on his trip to South Africa in January 2012.

If anyone can assist with sponsorship to help Cody with the costs associated with the trip please contact us. A club day is also planned to help this cause - WELL DONE CODY.
Good luck to the 15's and 16's this weekend...

**ROCKETS 15's BRING HOME THE BACON**

A sensational effort from the coaching staff, supporters and of course the players saw our 15's team bring home a premiership flag for 2010. After a solid run all year, the boys were never going to let the 2nd semi final defeat by Warwick Greenwood deter them from doing the job against them in the GF.

Coming off a 72 point victory over Carine in the preliminary final the week before, the boys were in high spirits and were of determined nature for the last game of the season. All players should be congratulated for their stellar effort in the weekend's clash with Warwick Greenwood - well done.
