| Mon 30th Aug 2010 **FINALS FEVER** - Week 2 It was a bit of a sad day out at Percy Doyle for the 13's and 15's sides on the weekend, but our 14's are up and about with a solid performance against Dalkeith Nedlands to stay alive this week in the Preliminary Final. The Subi Development coach spotted on the day at the ground, was very impressed with what he saw... The 15's remain in the hunt due to their solid work throughout the season and earning themselves a double chance, so will appear in the Preliminary Final round ths week also. Sadly, our 13's side bowed out in their final against Kingsley but should be congratulated on a great season despite the loss. This weeks games as follows; 14's - Blue division Preliminary Final v's Carine Cats @ Percy Doyle, Sorrento, 1pm 15's - Blue division Preliminary Final v's Carine Cats @ Barry Britton Reserve, Balga, 1pm All games on this Sunday, 5 September 2010. | Wed 21st Apr 2010 PRESIDENTS REPORT First of all, welcome to the 2010 season and a special welcome to our new members who are joining our club at an exciting time in its history. 2010 has seen a lot of changes involving the Kingsway Rockets Junior Football Club. We have moved to the Subiaco District as a part of the WAFC BOUNDARY CHANGES and the early support from Subiaco has been nothing short of fantastic. I am sure it will continue with a special thanks to Rob Goodin, Luke Sanders and Ben Haywood at the Subiaco district organisation. A lot of people also would have noticed we have changed our name to Kingsway JFC. This is a better representation of the area our kids are drawn from, and shows the direct link to broader community as well as the senior football club. This gives our kids an opportunity to continue their football path after their junior career is over. We have purchased new jumpers for all open rules teams and new club shirts for the kids to wear to all games which is stage 1, and we will start on modified rules next year. This has only been made possible due to the sound financial position the club is in thanks to Past President David Blake and his Committee. We also have a new major sponsor in Kambo’s Homemaker Centre in Malaga and Canning Vale and urge all club members to support all of our sponsors. Make sure you mention the Rockets when visiting any of our valued sponsors. I would also like to thank our GOLD sponsors Murphy Group Contracting and Dale Alcock Homes, and club sponsor Jims Fencing. A big thank you to all club members who have put their hand up to be coaches, managers, runners, water runners, or just to help out as our club cannot survive without your help - please continue to get involved in our great club. Finally I would like to mention our main fundraiser activity this year which has been kindly organised by the Subiaco Football Club. This is major raffle with 20 prizes all organised by Subiaco. All we need to do as a club is sell the tickets with half proceeds going straight to the Rockets - thanks to Sharon Southall, our Treasurer, for volunteering to be the Project Manager for our fundraiser this year. GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS IN 2010 GO ROCKETS Gavin Oliphant President KJFC | |
